Luis Victor Chirino, a pioneer in the construction industry of San Juan, was also passionate for the viticulture tradition of the region.

In 1990, he decided to invest in favourable lands for the planting of varietals and also in two wineries where Antigua Bodega wines are currently elaborated with vanguard technology.
Mr. Luis interest for the viticulture was born in the 80s. Back to those years, without having made his own wines yet, he bought the historical building of La Antigua Bodega.

This building dating from the late 19th C. and early 20th C, was at that time (And probably still is), the most important industrial and architectural piece in San Juan.

In 1889, a varietal from San Juan would win a golden medal in Paris, the same day of the opening of the Eiffel Tower. This was the biggest test for the wines from San Juan, which later found their place in the international market.
